MYMP - Now

Now is all I know Now is all I got And I don't know If there will be tomorrow for us. Now is all I care about Now that you are here Now that you're the contents of my heart. Now you're all I know Now is all I promise And I don't know If there will be a future for us. Now is all I live for Now that you are near And it was best that from the start it was clear. Refrain: Loving is not owning We can let it go We can let it go. Loving is not owning You can let me go You can let me go. Chorus: There's a reason Why we love each other now And we don't know if this is forever. There's a reason Why we are together now And we don't care if it's not forever now. Now is all I think about Now that I am happy And I'm not sure If there will be a future for us. Now is all I offer It's everything I got And I still wish That there will be a tomorrow for us. We love each other now...

Another Insomnia Post

I keep falling asleep in the afternoon. Which means I stay up later at night. So am wide awake at 430 am. Hopefully, by next week, my body will adjust na.

I've been eating rice again cause that's what they automatically cook at home. Arg I have to watch out or I'll gain back the pounds I lost overseas--I ordered Manang to cook brown rice for me or otherwise, none at all. I know for a fact that years of always driving around and taking cabs here is what really made the pounds creep up. Didn't help that I was always desk-bound and stress-eating all the time.

I checked online for Bikram Yoga class options and found 2 near QC: one in Morato and another in Greenhills. I wonder though if I enjoyed Bikram in NY only because it was winter and I wanted the warmth and the sweating. In any case, I like the awesome feeling after going through the excruciatingly difficult poses so I will make time to sign up for this. I literally feel my skin tightening up after every class and it helps keep me motivated so I can finally meet my goal: to wear the clothes I want to wear without limits.

oOo

I've been rereading Project Runway finalist Daniel Vosovic's "Fashion Inside Out" book 'cause it's like a one-stop fashion workshop literally in one hardbound book. I am so happy I found it for a steal at Strand's when we just went in there on a whim.

I was just looking for a book to while away some free time, a luxury I didn't have when I was still working the 8 to 5. Together with the hands-on classes I took at FIT, it made all the more sense to me when I reread his book. There were a lot of terms and instructions I couldn't understand at first reading that is only coming to light to me on second reading. And I got the book for like US11! Sweet.

Insomnia Post

-I drove everywhere today and my normally lightning-speed reflexes while driving need to be coaxed out again. Oh I texted while driving tee hee. I can still do that with aplomb.

-The MAPSA parking attendants have fancy-shmancy pocket gizmos that spew out parking tickets. How taray naman!

-Ditto 121, our constant Salcedo haunt. Aba gone is the bamboo wall; in comes red faux brick wall.

-I did all my errands. Ang galing. I find so much pleasure crossing out my 'to do' lists.

-I have new raket. So friends, if you need/want/desire some impressive art on your walls, you know who to call.

-I dropped by my old office and it was nice to see old faces. I remember what I became (or let myself become--my fault) when I was there though so it made me wistful a bit.

-I am happy. I honestly never felt this kind of happiness before. I guess I am not fighting and pushing anymore. I just ...be.

-I checked my old apartment in Yulo and found a dead ipis. I saw evidences of my last year there and I remembered many nice things. I want to keep it but I just can't afford it right now.

-I know what I want now. I just have to let go and let things unfold as they will and be happy even if things don't happen. The sheer effort of trying, though, somehow makes things happen. "If you build it, they will come" is becoming real for me.

-Bikram Yoga works for me. I checked in Salcedo for the classes but I wanna check if there's any near QC now that I moved out of Makati already.

-People 'get me' in New York. I feel welcome and accepted. That's why I like it there so much.

-I just devoured a mug of Toffee Caramel ice cream. Eeks. I better run or swim tomorrow.

Jetlag Post

I am still feeling out of it because of the time difference. I actually fell asleep after lunch and woke up early evening despite my best efforts to jumpstart my adjustment to local time. Now I am still wide awake.

Thankfully, my work schedule is a little flexible while I help a little in dad's business and doing my sidelines while I work out some things. Things are falling into place and I am so happy I made the leap. It was scary at first to start over (well, it seemed like it) but I am so glad I did.

My wish right now is that all the paper work goes well and I fly back to New York as soon as August. The city never fails to amaze me and each day, I find something new and exciting that makes me want to stay there so much, no matter that my brother Jojo is relocating to San Francisco soon.

Little angels will be helping me secure a job there when I arrive (yahoo!) and I think I can make the official student visa work out. Will seem cross fingers. I am trying to think positive as usual because it has worked for me in the past together with constant prayer. I know, it doesn't sound like me (especially to those who only know me post-College) but I DO pray a lot.

Meanwhile, I have an appointment tomorrow afternoon for another creative gig. Unlike other luckier people, I have to keep earning money to do the things I love. Thankfully, my parents have been generous enough to help out but I still need to do my part. How I wish I was a trust fund baby but of course, that is only possible in my dreams hehe.

I talked to Gino on the phone this afternoon. He has been instrumental in pushing me to achieve my goals and be true to who I am. We talked about how important it is to keep learning and be like Madonna in that she constantly keeps transforming herself all the time. I am inspired as ever to cross-out my 'to do' lists and just go for it.

In other news, how come I didn't know NYC Restaurant Week was extended?! Crap.

Oh I know why. I didn't read my regular emails from OpenTable.Com. I would have known. Oh well there is time to explore more when I get back.

One bad thing that happened to me is losing my camera in the subway. So now I've been camera-less for over a month and few weeks now. I wanted to get a really cheap Samsung that was on sale on woot.com but I was having second thoughts after reading some bad reviews. I will hold out for something I really like.

But in the meantime, if only I wasn't saving money, I want this Paul Smith fisheye camera. Grrrrr I heart it!

Manila Heat

Back to the grime. :)

I miss NY, my Mom and my niece Meg in Maryland. But I also missed my friends here in Manila. First dinner out was at Razon's with Marc and Gino despite feeling tired and sleepy. Craving for Pancit Luglug and Halo Halo and so I got that. I never realized how much I missed this. The life projects are unfolding. I have a some time to make the most of my stay in Manila and appreciate it from a third person point of view. The more I get out of the country, the more I see how wonderful and beautiful our country is. I wish more Filipinos realize that.

Tee hee

Back in Maryland

Wow Feb went by so fast. Doesn't help that it is actually a short month tee hee.

Took the last bus out of Port Authority and it was good that I paid extra for priority seating. I didn't wanna wait in line so long plus I wanted to sit in front of the bus. I was wondering all day if the trip would get cancelled because of the big snow storm but the city's efficient snow plows made sure I left last night. I am glad though cause I have time to spend with my mom. I forgot how much I miss my mom.

I wish I had more time to go out with Paulo again. To meet with some other friends. But there will be time when I get back. Hopefully, soon.

I am so proud I finished sewing my pants in one day. I literally sewed like a madman in my last class in the morning and afternoon. I ate lunch near my sewing machine and even sneaked in the nearby church for mass. Then after, Italian dinner with FIT friends at Little Italy/Chinatown. Carbs and gelato oh no!

My dinner before I left was crepes and a sandwich and hot choco in Follow Me Caffe with Hen and Berry Wild Yogurt. I already miss NY.

Brasilian Food in Newark?

Oh yeah. Francis, my cousin, introduced me to Guarana Soda, Brasilia Grill, and Portugal Street in Newark,NJ of all places. Who would have known?

I felt a bit out of it with his twentysomething friends from NYU but it was a way interesting experience. The food was fabulous, too!
